The Reverend Lartey Adotey Memorial School of The Apostolic Church-Ghana, located at Adabraka in Accra, has inaugurated a 30-seat capacity Computer Laboratory, marking a significant step forward in strengthening ICT education and improving overall academic performance.

The inauguration ceremony, held on Thursday, 4th December 2025, represents a major milestone for the school, which has over the years faced challenges with inadequate technological infrastructure. The newly commissioned laboratory is designed to equip learners with practical, hands-on experience in Information and Communication Technology a competency increasingly essential in today’s digital world.

Mr. Ishmael Bampoe, ICT Tutor, noted that the absence of a fully equipped computer laboratory had long hindered effective teaching and learning.
“We previously operated in a small room with just a few computers, making practical lessons difficult because several students had to share one device,” he explained. “Computing is both practical and technical; students need to apply and practise what they are taught. With this new development, teaching and learning will be significantly enhanced.”

Mr. Eric Mayebi, Chairman of the Parents and Teachers Association (PTA), described the commissioning as the fulfilment of a long-standing vision shared by parents and school leadership.

“Our children needed a standard ICT laboratory to match the demands of the modern world,” he said. “The previous facility had become outmoded, and parents consistently expressed concern during meetings. To support the school, we agreed to contribute a token toward the establishment of this refurbished and modern ICT centre. In today’s world, everything is driven by information and communication technology, and we want our children to be well-prepared.”

The Headmaster, Mr. Afinana Obeng Mensah, expressed gratitude to God for the accomplishment and highlighted its importance to the school’s mission.
“This is a very welcome development,” he remarked. “We are in a global, technologically driven world, and we cannot gather these young ones without giving them the basics. ICT is critical for nurturing learners who will grow to become reliable, independent, and critical thinkers. For this reason, we thank God for enabling us to open this laboratory today.”

The commissioning of the new ICT Laboratory stands as a testament to the collaborative spirit of the school community and a renewed commitment to providing quality, forward-looking education in line with the values of The Apostolic Church-Ghana.
